The neighborhood got together and helped watch each other’s houses to try to cut down on the crime rate. Every night, one of the residents would make a sweep of the neighborhood with their car. Signs were put up in the windows of every house saying that there was a neighborhood watch in effect. The effort worked; the crime rate went down drastically.

One night, one of the residents actually made a citizen’s arrest. He caught a burglar trying to break into his next door neighbor’s kitchen window. Later that month, there was a block party. All of the neighbors were there. They had all pitched together and sprung the guy out of jail. He was brought to the picnic in a squad car. He was tied to a pole and beaten to death. His body was dragged into the street and doused with gasoline and torched. Everyone clapped and cheered as the flames made the body crackle and sizzle.
